After leaving the hotel, and the city of Honda, Parker and Turner found themselves in La Dorada, a small town situated on the banks of the Magdalena River. It was roughly a forty-minute drive from Honda, and they wound up checking in to the first hotel they saw. They made a clean get away from their little battle at the hotel and observed no one following them.

When they woke up the following morning, the previous night’s events were still fresh in their minds, especially Parker’s. Though she considered it a successful ruse, fleshing out Moreno’s true allegiances, it still ticked her off at the same time. He was a trusted source by the CIA and she was sure that Cole was missing because of him. If finding Cole wasn’t the immediate priority, a piece of her wished that she could go back to Bogota and find Moreno and put two bullets in his head.

After Turner ate a small breakfast, he saw his girlfriend sitting in a chair in the corner of the room. She had a scowl on her face and she was making sure the weapons she’d taken out of Moreno’s storage unit were clean and operable. Turner sat on the floor in front of her. Parker briefly looked at him, wondering what he wanted, though she kept on cleaning the weapons. Turner could see by her face that something was bothering her. He picked up one of the handguns and also started to clean it.

“So, you wanna tell me what that look’s for?”

“What look?” Parker said, tensing up.

“That ‘I wanna tear somebody’s head off’ look. I’ve seen it before, though not lately.”

“I’m just mad.”

“I can see that. Why?”

“Moreno. I’m just...I just wanna go find him right now and...”

Parker stopped before she said the words, looking at Turner. She almost looked embarrassed at how she was talking and feeling. It was the old her coming out. The before she met Turner side of her.

“And kill him?” Turner said, finishing her sentence.

Parker stopped what she was doing and just stared at him, practically ashamed for thinking that way. Being in Los Angeles the past year, she hoped that part of her would never rear its head again. It was what frightened her about coming down here to begin with. As Turner returned her gaze, Parker looked down at the floor, hoping he didn’t think less of her. He put his hand on her knee, knowing she was very emotional and sensitive about it and sought to put her mind at ease.

“Alex, you don’t have to feel bad or ashamed for feeling or thinking a certain way. You know I’m gonna love you regardless.”

“It’s just...I thought I was done with all this, and yet, here we are. Having to be cold and ruthless again.”

“I know you’re worried about becoming that part of you that you thought you left behind before. That you’re nervous that it’ll remain part of you again even after we leave here. But you honestly can’t be thinking about that right now.
